The hole in the handle is designed to aid in the removal of the barrel bushing from most models of 1911 handguns, take care not to lose the recoil spring and plug upon removal.
These are also designed for the original lock rings, found on XM177 and early Carbines, before switching to the current castle nut lock rings.
Solid steel with a black oxidised finish.
