MIL-SPEC V COM-SPEC:
Mil-Spec buffer tubes are approx 1.148″ in diameter, where as Com-Spec buffer tubes are approx 1.168″, so Com-Spec stocks can fit Mil-Spec buffer tubes (possible a little slack) but Mil-Spec stocks would be too tight to fit Com-Spec tubes.
Mil-Spec buffer tubes will usually have a flat end, Com-Spec usually have a 5° slant.
Some buttstocks are designed to be able to fit both.
Mil-Spec tubes are more common, springs and castle nuts are usually compatible with both, buffer weights may or may not be.
Also available ~ Buffer Tubes and Rifle Collapsible Buttstocks.
If your buffer tube has a closed end rail, you will likely have to slacken off the length selector lever fully to fit to the stock tube.
