BASIC GENERAL TIPS
Drawing of a Mans Wrist Watch

OPERATION

For Manual winding watches;

When the crown is in the 1st position (fully pushed in) with watch can be wound.
Usually wind in a clockwise direction with slight pressure until you feel resistance.
Do not then wind any more or else you may weaken or break the spring.

A complete winding from stopped is usually 20 rotations.
The watch should now run for approximately 24 hours.
It's best to get into the habit of winding the watch at a set point each day.

For Self winding watches;

You will need to wear the watch for more than 8 hours to fully wind the spring.
Swaying your arm for 30 seconds when first wearing the watch will wind it enough to start.

Most self winding watches also have a manual winding option.

TIME SETTING

Pull the crown out slightly until in engages into the 2nd position.
Twisting the crown will now rotate the dials to set to the correct time.
Remember to reset the crown to the 1st position when finished.

CARE

In case of water on the case of strap, wipe it off with a soft towel.
Watches are also adversely affected by strong magnetic objects.

Be careful not to expose the watch to solvents; alcohol, petrol, mercury,
cosmetic sprays, detergents, adhesive or paints.
These can discolour the case, deteriorate the band and damage the workings.
